Hi,

I'm not sure if you're still active on the site (or even still have the book!) but I was wondering if I could see the pages on all of the Joneses -
Jones, Charles (pg9)
Jones, Garland (pg6 ,9)
Jones, Granville "Grant" (pg7, 9)
Jones, Jim (pg4)

I'm researching a Clayton Jones b. 1898 who was married to a Stella Byrd Jones b. 1897 d. 1954 at one point before getting divorced. I know they lived in Salisbury, MD (according to the 1920 census), but I'm struggling to fill in a lot of the rest of the picture.

Thanks!
Kelley

Capt. Rowland Bevends, Bevan, Bevans, Bevins, etc.

tons of info on this very large family, but I need something to connect John Bevan (1646-1726) wife, Barbara Aubrey, Quakers settling PA with Wm. Penn to Capt. Rowland Bevends (1624-1709), wife, Mary Aubrey of Warwick, MD. Capt. Rowland is my 7th great grandfather, and my generation does, indeed, have a Rowland. Captain Rowland married late in life, twice, but having 9 children with Mary Aubrey in MD. Mary and Barbara are sisters from Wales, and the family castle is still called home to the Aubrey line today. I find that Capt. Rowland was born in Bay, MA 1624, but without any documentation to prove this to be true. I cannot find documents that clearly states Capt. Rowland's siblings (or date and place of birth,) one of which may be John Bevan of Wales, settling PA with a band of Quakers. These men were brothers-in-law, but also brothers? Capt. Rowland may have Arthur, Llewellyn, William, and Richard as brothers or children... I would love to know more about this larger than life man and his bustling and busy family.

There is a Hursley Rd just west of the intersection of Rt 12 (Snow Hill Rd) and Rt 366 (Stockton Rd) in Stockton, Md. Google maps shows it as a road that goes through, but it is marked no outlet. Years ago the area had many small towns or settlements that have since faded away. For many the only thing left is a cemetery or a road named after the town. Stockton was originally called Sandy Hill and the Sandy Hill Cemetery can be seen on google maps at the beginning of Hursley Rd. I believe there may have also been towns called Portersville and Ticktown to the east of Rt 12. You may be able to get additional information from the Snow Hill or Pocomoke Libraries that would confirm the location of Hursley.
Hope this helps in your search.

Hello:

I am researching Henry Powell (born 1820), his wife Lucy (born 1820), granddaughters Annie Rebecca (born 1876) and her sister Bessie (born 1878) all living in Howard County Maryland (re: US 1880 Census) with his two sons Nathan (1870) and Edward (born 1869). In the 1870 census, other children are listed as Henry (born 1863) and Olevia (born 1867). Would Zenas' bible hold information on this african american family?

I am researching Annie Rebecca Powell in particular who would later marry John Henson Jones; my great-grand parents.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi,

Mostly, I have extensive historic resources concerning the older family members including George Alexander Grant (photographer). I am not familiar with the female relatives of whom you referred to but I'm always adding to the file. Please do keep in contact and I'll certainly update as I find anything. I'm looking for correspondence, pictures etcetera for an article. Thanks greatly,

Chantal

Would love to know if you tie in and who your family is. My birth certificate lists my name spelled Cherricks which was close to the original spelling I've seen so far.

Ruth Dryden's book of Lower Eastern Shore marriages 1865-1906 shows that Emma J. Pruitt, age 27 married Saunders W. Hall, a 57 yr. old widower in Worcester County on 16 May 1897..I have trying to trace them down via Ancestry.com and hitting a brick wall. I would assume they would show up starting with the 1900 census..Can anybody help? That's the only information I have to go on..I live 3 hours away from Snow Hill Court House which is county seat for Worcester County.
