Eunice FOOKES d. 1825, first husband was a _____ LINGO. She had three sons, John, William and Obediah b. 1766. Obediah married Mary Tilghman, daughter of John Tilghman. I am searching for information on Obediah's father and date of marriage to Mary Tilghman. William and Obediah (d. 1848) migrated west to Ohio where they died. I do not know what happened to John. I would appreciate any information about these individuals.

I am not at all familiar with the Lingo family however the Butler family did marry into the Lingo line. Lingo is still evident in the lower DE area today. I will copy a few skimpy details in hope that it may spark some light into what you are looking for. Thanks Dale Jones santaman@ezy.net

The March 1774 will of William FOOKES, Sr. mentions "Grandsons John and William LINGO." (Md. Colonial Wills 1634-77, Liber 40, p. 154). I have only two of William's daughters identified, Abigail and Tabitha. I had assumed that the mother of the two LINGO grandsons was probably deceased by 1774 since she is not mentioned in the will but perhaps not. Have you identified the parents of your Eunice FOOKES? Do you have the name of her second husband?
