I am seeking information on Bowers and Souder (phonetically spelled!) families of the Sharpsburg area. George Washington Bowers II (born 1840) possibly had a brother John Bowers in the period of 1860. John had a daughter named Berta (or Berthe) Souder who in approx. 1925-1930 was then an old lady who had had lots of children. The name Souder is approximate, it could be Stouder, Sowder or some similar variation.

A LDS reference has George as having parents Daniel and Mary, but since he was The II, this may not prove to be true.
