I have received a narrative about a Dunkle family reunion which took place in Bedford Co, PA in 1905. It says that Matilda Dunkle was the daughter of George Lee. According to the narrative, George's father was from England and came to Virginia in 1750. His son, George moved to Washington Co, MD until about 1810 when he went to Georgia. In 1812 he moved to Cumberland Valley, Bedford Co, PA and married Mary Wertz.
I am researching this family as I believe a sister of Matilda was my gg-grandmother, Barbara Lee who married John Cook in Bedford Co, PA in 1851. Barbara was born January 22, 1828 in Bedford Co, PA and died Oct. 25, 1889 in Tolono, Champaign Co, IL.
I would appreciate any info concerning this Lee family.
