Looking for information on the Blades family in Talbot County. Susanna Blades was born abt. 1832 in St. Michael's, daughter of Margaret Horney Dawson and Cooper Blades. Susanna married Alexander Gibson on 05 May 1852 in Oxford, MD and together they had son Sidney Gibson. Susanna (also seen as Susan) is in the 1850 census, at the time still single and living with mother Margaret Blades. The census of 1860 shows Alexander living with several of his siblings along with child Sidney. Sidney was born abt. 1853. It is very likely Susanna died between the time of the birth of Sidney and the census of 1860. Margaret and Cooper Blades, her parents, were married 1 Oct 1824 in St. Michael's. Cooper died between 1840 and 1850 as he's shown in the 1840 census but not in the 1850 one. Margaret died 30 Sept. 1880 in St. Michael's at the age of 95, and her obit states she was the oldest member of her church, M.E. Church in St. Michael's. Looking for more information on Susanna and her parents. It is possible that Cooper Blades was from Somerset County, but I am not certain. Both Cooper and Margaret were born about 1785.
