I am researching my g.g. grandfather Robert Alexander who was born in Maryland. The first record that I have of him is the 1850 census living with a different family as a laborer in Massey's Crossroads where he lived most of his life. I have all of his Civil War records and his marriage place and date, but I can't find any information about his birth, his parents, or his death date (I believe it was in 1903 though). I have exhausted just about all of my online resources and I was wondering if anybody knew of a place that I could go to to do research in Caroline County, or a place that I could contact that would have the records.
