Joseph Ashley and Ann Haddaway were married 10 Jan 1836 in Kent County. Unable to find them in the 1850 census - possibly Ann died early. According to death certificates on John E. Ashley who died in Kent County in 1924 and Olivia Ashley Cornelius who died in Kent County in 1903, Joseph and Ann were their parents. Am unable to find John E. Ashley (born 18 Feb 1838) and sister Olivia Ashley (born abt. 1845) in the 1850 census. In 1860 there is an O. Ashley, female, 17, who may be Olivia living in Kent County with an L. I. Rawleigh, female, 37, merchant, and others. No sign of John E. Ashley in the 1860 census. It is likely that Parthenia Ashley Rollison is a sister to Olivia and John E. She was born abt. 1842 and died in Kent County 4 Oct 1898. She is not able to be found in the early censuses in Kent County either. Any information you can share is appreciated. Thanks!
