Rita, I realize your post is several years old; but, I am interested in this topic. My husband told me that part of Howard County near Sykesville was once referred to as "Little Tennessee" becuase of the migration of TN people there. His grandparents from Greene County, TN; and great-grandparents from Hawkins County, TN came up sometime before 1930. Many other members of their families came as well. Did you find anything on this?
