On March 26, 1900 John Lewis Durst was married in Accident, Md. to Mary Turney, it is recorded in Book 3 page 106 in Oakland, Maryland.
The 1910 Census of Accident, Maryland list House #111 with John Lewis Durst, age 48 years old, head of the house. His wife is Mary Durst, age 56 years old, married 9 years with no children.
By March 6, 1920 Lewis Durst, age 57 years old, is recorded in Accident, Md. on the census as a widower. The Bittinger Book, page 311, gives John Lewis Durst, married to Mary Turney and 3rd. to Susanna Mosser, born June 3, 1856, daughter of Jonas Mosser and Sarah Beachy.
The Durst children of this family were raised by Rachel and Hampton Durst, her 2nd. husband.
John Lewis Durst died in Accident , Md. on May 17,1928. I have never been able to find his burial site, there is no marker in the Lutheran Cem. where his father is buried. Does anyone know if the church there has records and who to contact for them?
