CHARLES WALKER, who always styled himself, "the carpenter" owned land in Frederick County called "The Virgins Delight", part of which was on the west side of Catoctin Mountain. It is said that Charles and his wife, Mary ___ sold part of that land to NATHANIEL WALKER, their son. Charles and Nathaniel were both residents of Frederick County. A remainder of this land was sold by Nathaniel's son, RENELDER WALKER and his mother before they went to North Carolina. At that time it was described as two parcels, one being "Virgins Delight" and the other being "Resurvey of Virgins Delight". Nathaniel Walker was perhaps born in 1730 in Prince George, dying in Frederick County, Maryland in 1766. He married Elizabeth______, perhaps in 1747. A Nathan Walker is on a Muster Roll of Foot in the Maryland Forces Commanded by Capt. John Dagworthy at Fort Frederick at the onset of the French and Indian War. The description of the places where some of the men were killed implies that Nathan was at the Battle of Ft. Duquesne. Renelder was born about 1748, in Frederick County, Maryland. He died in Kentucky about 1825. This family started in America when Daniel Walker was transported to Maryland in 1657, eventually flourishing in Talbot County; if you are a descendent of this family, I have more information about Charles' ancestors and Renelder's descendents to exchange, but I have the following questions. Does anyone have information about this family? Does anyone have Elizabeth's maiden name? Does anyone know anything about Renelder? Does anyone have access to land records that show the sale by Renelder, where the land was, etc?
