Johan Peter HERR deserted the Hessian Erbprinz Regt. in August 1781. He appears with wife Susanna in record of son George's birth on Aug. 12, 1784 in the Zion Ref. Ch. records in Hagerstown. Analysis of census records of 1790 and 1800 suggest George was their SECOND son. Assuming HERR's desertion occurred in eastern MD during the move of the Hessians southward toward Yorktown, I seek records of the marriage of John Peter HERR to Susanna ( ) sometime after August 1781 and probably in 1782, and of the birth of a son ca. 1782-3.
