Slifer family cemetery is located 1 mile south of Burkittsville on a family farm (formerly the Zecker farm). There was at one time a road called the Ahalt Distillery Road but this is long since been abandoned. We just visited the cemetery in the first week of May 2005, we asked the current owner of the farm for permission to look at the cemetry, the owner had no problem with that at all. The current farm is located on the left side of the road with a large farm pond in the front of the entrance to the driveway. The cemetery was very grown over, but we found about 20 or more stones and some were legible. We photographed as much as possible.

Hi I just read your post of the Zecher cemetery location. That is where my relatives lived. My great.... grandparents are John Carlton Zecher B 1803 and Elizabeth Ahalt b. 1808. I would love to see any of your photos you wouldn't mind sharing. My Aunt and Uncle were just up in that part of the country trying to find some of the gravestones, but did not know of this one. Would there be any way that you could possibly email some cemetery photos to me, My email is mmoments@hotmail.com Thanks so much
