Reason
LOVELACE and Benjamen
LOVELACE Jr. were on the 1776 Census of
Frederick Co., MD. There is reason (pardon the pun) for me to believe that one of them may have been the father of my maternal ggg-grandmother, (Anna) Mariah
LOVELACE, born in VA in 1801 and died in Savanna, MO, in 1862. She married Henry W. BAYNE in 1829 at Bullit Co., KY. He was a son of Thomas
BAYNE (1755-1822) born in MD; and a grandson of
Ebsworth BAYNE, also born in MD.
Thomas
BAYNE is said to have been a brother of Henry Holland
BAYNE, who married
Sophia DUVAL and later on, Susanna
FORSTER, both marriages performed in
Nelson Co., KY.
As you know, the LOVELACES were among the first to settle in MD, as were the
BAYNEs. An early
BAYNE ancestor was in the ship
ARK AND
DOVE when it landed in MD. Alternate spellings of the
BAYNE surname include
BEAN and
BEANE.
I am especially interested in finding records of marriages between the
BAYNE and
LOVELACE families. I gladlly share family information. Thank you for reading my query.
