I've looked at the Somerset County, MD, records and found a James Bramble, but know nothing about him, except that he was a waterman. I need to go to the courthouse and see what is there. The following is the only other message that I've received. My placque is also copper or brass. I couldn't find anything about Duke of Gumby. I have a feeling that it was a mass produced item to fend off hunters and people coming onto private land.
