Bouldin, Noble

I am searching for ANYONE who can help me with definite proof (not a quote from Terence Bunyan Bouldin's book, mind you) that Noble Bouldin, who appeared in Buncombe Co NC and later in Warren Co TN, was the descendant of either William Bouldin or his brother James Bouldin.
James Bouldin 1712-1784 of Cecil Co MD was the son of William Bouldin and Thomasin Nash. James died in New Castle Co DE. His wife was Elizabeth Phillips who died 1785. Elizabeth was the daughter of Nathan Phillips who died c 1748.
James and elizabeth had the following children: Nathan, twins elisha and Elijah, Augustina, James, Thomas, John, Hannah, Jesse, and Rachel.

From the research that I have done, the Christian name NATHAN does not appear in the Bouldin family until after the marriage of James to Elizabeth Phillips, and then ONLY in his direct descendants.

Noble Bouldin was probably born in the 1760's. His children are known from court records in Tennessee. Theywere Gideon, Louis, Rueben, Nathan and elinder. Nathan is my line...he had known children Elisha, Elijah, Sarah who married Robert Thomas Grisom, and Mary.

Because of the book written by Terence B. Bouldin claiming it to be so, without any concrete documentation, many people accept that Noble was the son of William and Rebecca Bouldin of Cecil Co MD. William was the elder brother of James and was born 29 June 1704. His estate was probated in 1766 in Cecil and the only person ever named was his widow Rebecca...it is stated he had 5 children but they were unnamed. Rebecca later married an Armstrong.

Noble Bouldin married Temperance and she was his wife til she died in 1833 as proven by the records fo the Collin River Church in TN.

Can anyone help with CONCRETE PROOF of the lineage of Noble Bouldin?

Thank you
Regina Roper

I am researching the Bouldin's of Warren/Grundy Co TN and Noble and Temperance appear, but I have no proof of his lineage either.
I do have a question. In your research, and you obviously have done lots, do you find another Temperance marr to a Lewis Bouldin off to Tx, or a Solomon W. (E.B.) Bouldin/Bowlin anywhere?? Solomon is my sticking point. I have him at 1860 marr Sarah Walker, have her widow's pension affidavits stating all these people lived by him their entire life, but can't place him in any of the households. I know he's there, but can't find who with. Will pass on info if I find anything on your/our Noble

My wife and I purchased "Poplar Hall" an historic house and farm built by James Boulden (the elder) in the 1780's.
I'd like to find more info on the boulden family of NewCastle and Cecil County MD if anyone knows anything.

Maryland genealogical and historical society published a fall journal if you are interested let me know. That cleaned up a lot of bouldin misinformation. Article Called the "Bouldin Saga" well documentated and enlightening.
My linage if from William to Noble down on my grandfathers side by on my grandmonthers side it is William to James to Elisha down. I just had surgery and can not go through my books. If interested wtimosch@comcast.net In a couple of weeks I might be able to go pull the book/journal.
