Jayne, we also own a Chandlee clock, although we are not descendants. It was crafted for my husband's family. If you have time on your visit, you might want to contact Eric Chandlee Wilson, a clockmaker in Thornbury, Chester Co., PA. He also maintains the clock collection - which includes Chandlees - at the Chester Co. Historical Society in West Chester.
What is the Chandlee book you referred to? The only one I know about is _Six Quaker Clock Makers_ which isn't genealogy.
You might also be interested to know it was my mother, Louise Reynolds Witman, who named Chandlee Rd. outside Calvert, MD (near where the Chandlee workshop was located). She worked for the USPS when names were assigned to unnamed roads and decided the Chandlee family deserved recognition. She wanted to rename Fell Rd. where the workshop was located. That wasn't possible, so she did the next best thing.
