Hello, Would you be able to look in the book " Beneath These Stones " for the burial place of Edward Albert Matthews, or Mathews. Born Feb 1841, and died abt 1911. Wife is Louisa Olivia Rutledge Matthews. died before 1911. They lived in Easton, but are not buried in plots that they bought. He was from Preston at one time. They are my Great grandparents and I can't find them anywhere. Any help is appreciated. Suzanne

Hi, A Ms McVey was nice enough to let me know that my Ggrandfather Edward Albert Matthews die in Glem Rock PA. I sent for his death certificate and it states that he was sent to Easton for buriel. I sent for a CD of all of the graves in Spring Hill, where he should be, but he is not there. His wife Olivia isn't there either. Where else could they be, if he was sent to Easton?? Where else can I look.? I can't seem to get into The Denton Journal Pages to search for Olivia's obit, hoping that I could get a clue there. Suzanne

Easton is in Talbot County, Maryland. Under the city of Easton I find the following cemeteries:

Doverbrook Cemetery
Easton Cemetery
Lloyd Family Burial Ground
Richland Memorial Park
Round Top Graveyard
Spring Hill Cemetery
Third Haven Meeting Burial Ground
Woodlawn Memorial Park
Wye House Cemetery

There are a variety of other cemeteries in the county. I'm not sure what the dates are and maybe the boundaries changed. There are many small "family" plots in this area as well. If you come up emptyhanded with those let me know and I will send you the additional ones in the county. tammy5696@aol.com

Thank you Tammy for your response. I have been in touch with Parker Todd about two years ago and he claims that they aren't buried in Talbot county. All of the rest of the family is in Springhill, but not them. They were in Caroline CO for the 1910 census. He died in 1914. I don't know when she died. It is a mystery why they aren't in Springhill since he had two lots. I will check the cemeterys that you listed. Haven't heard of some of them. They seem to have just disappeared. Thank you for your help. Suzanne

Tammy, thank you for your reply. I think that they were farmers in the Preston area and I would guess that they went to a local Methodist church. I know that they resided in Easton for a while also. I just don't have much information on them and they died before my Mother was born. She has no information either other than the family bible. A list of Caroline Co cemeteries would be helpful. I know that they are somewhere in the area. Suzanne
