"Abraham Johnson And Descendants" was copyrighted 1939 by Annie Dent Davis. Her material is based, she says, on work done by her father, Edgar Johnson Davis prior to his death in 1937. Seems to me they lived or worked in the Carolinas. The work cites no sources for the genealogical allegations. It's at HeritageQuest online and other places off-line.

I copied it into a database, and I see no Neil/Neale. However, in other places in Allegany co, I have seen reference to a Cornelius Johnson. Some men named Cornelius are called Neil.

If your branch has any man named or called Oakey, best check that book for clues. (g)
