I am trying to solve a bit of a family mystery.
The specific individual that I am researching is Isaac Pendleton Leeman (1812- before 1881).
Isaac was born in New Brunswick (Deer Island) to Daniel Leeman and Matilda Pendleton.
He married Esther Nickerson in 1835 in Maine.
They had 7 children:
For some reason, Isaac packed up and left Esther sometime after 1860 and sailed his boat across the Bay of Fundy, landing on Long Island, Nova Scotia. He travelled with a man by the last name of "Greenlaw" and they each married Outhouse sisters. Isaac married Amelia Ann Outhouse and they had:
Wesley John (my 2nd great grandfather)
Both Esther and Isaac left behind few details. I don't know when Esther died, but she was alive and well when Isaac left and started his new family in Nova Scotia.
Isaac died after 1880, but I cannot find any proof or location.
I am reaching out to see if perhaps there were any "family stories" among the Leeman families, since i know there are still many of them in Maine and surrounding areas!
