Jules Templet family

I am looking for any info on Jules TEMPLET, wife's name Louise, who were, I think, from the Brusly area.

My great-grandmother was Mary Louise TEMPLET, born 1902, but she moved with my great-grandfather, Joseph SENNETT (aka CIANCHETTA/E), to the St. Louis, Mo. area before 1930. Mary died in Louisiana in 1964 and by family lore is buried on top of her mother, although I haven't figured out where yet. At that time, she was there visiting relatives, who I assume still live there.

I have very little information on the TEMPLETs and would be extremely grateful for any help anyone might be able to give me.

Shelly, I too, am related to the Templets from Brusly. My grandmother was O'Delia Templet, daughter of Valery Templet. Do you know any thing else about Jules? Date of birth, etc. I have a set of the DBR books and can look up info for you. I just need a time frame.

I don't have too much to go on. I have ordered my great-grandma Mary's death certificate, but I haven't received it yet.

Her info is:

Mary Louise TEMPLET
Born 16 Mar 1902 in Louisiana
Married between 1919-1921 in Louisiana
Died 10 Sep 1964

In 1964, she was in Louisiana visiting relatives with my great-grandpa Joseph SENNETT (changed from what I think was CIANCHETTA) and was killed in a car accident near Brusly. She was buried on top of her mother, who I think is named Louise.

My grandma was born in New Orleans in 1924, but I can't trace them before that.

My grandma swore she didn't know her grandparents names, but after she died, I found them as Jules and Louise TEMPLET, written in her family bible in her handwriting. This Jules would have been alive ca. 1920 because family lore is that my great-grandpa asked his permission to date my great-grandma. Since I don't know the birth order, I can only say that Jules and Louise were probably born abt. 1880, maybe before that.

Sorry I don't have any more info than this. I guess I am hoping someone recognized Mary's name as a sister or daughter who is unaccounted for. Supposedly, she had 12 siblings.

Shelly, I looked through the DBR books and find a Jules Templet married to Cecile Bourgogne. These are births of children. If you want me to find them all I'll send them to you by e-mail. My e-mail is ellerdabet@cs.com so drop me a line and I'll do some searching. I'm pretty sure I won't find much on your Grandmother Mary because the DBR only goes up to 1894

My gggrandfather was Jules Templet from WBR Parish. He married three times. First to Amelia Dupuy on 11 Jan 1877. She died in 1878. His second marriage was to my gggrandmother Marceline Cecile Bourgoyne of Plaquemine,Iberville Parish, on 15 May 1879. They had two children, Joseph Alexandre, my ggrandfather, and Rose Mary. She died sometime before 1888. Jules then married your ggrandmother, Louise Robeau on 28 April 1888. I have several children by this marriage. I do not know when Jules died but am pretty sure that he and my gggrandmother are buried at St John the Baptist Catholic Church of Brusly. Your gggrandmother, Louise is buried there along with Mary Louise Templet Sennett. And yes she is probably buried on top of Louise because that is a tradition in La when burial space is limited. As far as where Jules grave is he is probably buried close by but never marked. I have other information about the Templets that go all the way back to Andre Templet that came over in the 1700's. Would love to share.

Hi Delores:

This is Milton Altazan. As I was browsing through the message boards I came across your message concerning Jules Templet. You know that he married my dad's sister. Aunt Clay was an Altazan.

However, it goes further than that. My mom's mother
was a Templet also. She decended from Andre Templet as does uncle Jules. I've traced her family all the way back to Andre. I do not know how Uncle Jules
decended from Andre. If you would like to trade information, please contact me at:maltazan@cox.net.

As Ever.
Milton
