I'm looking for information on some families in Union Parish.
Here's what I know:
John Auston Ramsey - born 4-30-1878, died 12-9-1957.
He was married to Ada Francis Jones - born 4-7-1880, died 1-9-1957.
One of their sons was John Curtis Ramsey, born 4-26-1910, died 1-28-1991.
Ada's parents are Dr. H.N. Jones, born 4-11-1855, and his wife, Martha L. McCormick, born 10-4-1856.
Martha and Dr. Jones are buried in Laran Cemtery in Union Parish. John Curtis Ramsey is buried in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, Louisiana, along with both of his wives and several of his sons.

John Austin Ramsey was the son of John Ramsey and Mary F. Austin. The elder John Ramsey was the son of James Ramsey. I can give you information about the Austin family for several generations. I actually have more information about that line. These are not my husband's direct ancestors but they are intermarried with his families. This Ramsey line came from Alabama to Arkansas amd then to Union Parish. I also have a direct Ramsey line from Alabama but can not yet connect it to this group of Ramseys. My Ramseys came from South Carolinaa to Tallapoosa Co., Alabama, to Leake Co., Mississippi, to Jackson and Bienville Parish (about 1880). I am looking for any info on James Austin born 1792 in Ireland who died Laurens County SC before 1815 and he was married to Sarah Leaman. His cildren are Samuel, Eliz, Agnes, Sarah and James who is born in 1821 Laurens County and married Phoeby. They had 4 girls listed in 1850 of Laurens. One of them, Hanie (looks like Harry in the census but is my female gr gr gr grandmother Hanie)
I cannot find James Jr and Phoeby in 1860 or 70 or 80 census records. I had believed they stayed in Laurens Co but that might be wrong. I am hoping to find them in the 1860 to learn if they had more children. Let me know if you have any info on James Jr and wife Phoeby? Thanks
