I am seeking death dates and burial locations for Allen Stancill and wife Rosetta who settled in Union Parish in the early 1840's and lived there until their deaths.
Also especially interested in hearing from current descendants in the area.
Thanks,
Tracy Stancil

Death date for Allen J. Stancill March 15, 1869
Death date for Rosetta Robinson Stancill August 15, 1876 This information was given to me by an uncle. However Union Parish records beginning in December, 1875 deal with the inventory and settlement of her estate. I do not know their burial sites.
I am a descendent through their daughter Fannie/Frances who married John Ford

Yvonne,
Thanks for writing. I haven't been actively working on genealogy lately, but did want to mention to you that the burial sites are apparently on the old family property which I have been told is located across the street from the current school board office in Farmerville.

Tracy,
Thanks for the burial location for the Stancils. Interesting!!!!
I haven't been working on this line for some time, either.

Could you tell me if the settlement of Allen and Rosetta's estate listed the names of all of their children or of anyone who has that information?

My gggrandmother was Harriet Louise Stancill of Union Parish, LA. I believe she is likely their eldest daughter, born Nov, 1832 in NC before their move to LA. She married first Shepherd Mills Farmer in 1848 and, after his premature death in 1853, D. M. Jameson, having children by both men. She lived until 1911.
