I believe it was D.P.A. Cook's wife Mary Jane Turner, who died May 21, 1837 at Mr. Sterlin's home near the present day town of Sterlington. She was buried on the banks of the Ouachita River according to the obit. in the "Woodville Republican" MS newspaper. She was born 1809 in VA, the d/o John Turner and Elizabeth Cole Turner. I have a little information on their children. It was Elizabeth Cole's line from her father, Mark to John Cole, Jr. , that has a documented line to the Rev. War. I hope this is correct and will help you.

Diane,
It is so wonderful to hear from you.

We have a paper that shows finally that John Bela Cook and Abigail were brother and sister. In it the will did mention another brother. I will look and see if it is the perosn you are looking for in your research.

John Bela Cook is buried in Jasper, Texas. His son was a fine builder and constructed many of the fine homes in Jasper. There is a book about him. I will give you the name of a lady in Jasper that may be able to help you more.

I'll get out my information and write and tell you what I have.

I am grateful that we have found each other. We are indeed a village and all connected, if not by blood certainly by heart.

Lynn

Have you found proof that D.P.A. Cook was the father of Abigail Cook and John Bela Cook?

If so, please let me know where I may obtain this information.

Thanks for all your information. You are a blessing to our family members.

Blessings,
Lynn Cardiff

You have been a big help! I don't have the date of death for Mary Jane Turner the wife of D.P.A. Cook. I have her birth day as January 19, 1808. Marriage on August 13,1826.
I had written down North Carolina, but had marked through it so something tole me that was not correct.

I will keep this new information that you have sent to me.

Who is the Pastor War? Does this line lead to anything special?

Mr records end with Mary Jane Turner's father was John Turner born Oct. 26,1717 in Blanden County, North Carolina.

John Turner was married to Elizabeth Cole who was born on February 28, 1790 Amite County, Mississippi

Elizabeth Cole's father was Mark Cole born in 1769 in North Carolina
Elizabeth's Cole's mother was Jeremia Chambers

Mark Cole's father was John Cole who was married to Jane Bounds.

Does this match your findings?

Do these lines lead to someone in the an important event in history?

I still need ob or something to prove John Bela to Abigain Cook........................

Correction:

Mary Jane Turner was born in 1809.........January 18, 1909. I hit the incorrect key and said 1808..........it is needs to read 1809.

Boy, do I feel silly. When I read Rev. War, I thought Rev. stood for Reverand...........

Does Martha Turner Cole's line make us eligible for the DAR? Maybe the line is not direct enough?

Thank you for answering my request for help.

Sincerely,
Lynn

Hello!

The line to Don Pedro Aquilla Cook has been proved and is on record with the Mayflower Society. It shows that Bella M. Cook is indead the father of D.P.A. Cook.

They have no record of John Bela Cook as being the son of D.P.A. Cook, but we know him to be the brother of Abigail E. Cook/Green who has decendants in the Mayflower Society.

My great-grandmother was Martha Norris Bussey Moffeit Taylor.
By her first marriage to John Bussey, she had a daughter, Sarah, who married a Joseph Hamp Green. In fact, I may have a picture of Hamp and Sarah in my files. Are we talking about the same person/family? Thanks.
