Isabella Gant did marry Christian Smith (it was changed from Schmidt). Arabella married his brother. Both Smith men came from Denmark and Arabella's husband (according to family stories) abandoned her and her children and returned to Denmark. She, and her children, lived with Isabella and Christian until both Isabella and Christian died very young. They are buried on Avoca Island. Isabella and Christian had five children.
