My GG Grandfather JIM M. COOK was born around 1820 in Alabama. He married ELIZABETH KIZZIAH UNK. around 1840 in Alabama. He died around 1865. I would be very grateful to find out exactly when and where. KIZZIAH COOK and children still lived in Sabine Parish in 1870. J.M. COOK brought his family from Alabama to Sabine Parish around 1855 according to the 1860 census. This Cook family was closely associated with the PEACE, PROVINCE, and FRANKS families.
I believe that WILLIAM R. COOK was either a brother or cousin to JIM M. COOK as there was only a six or seven year difference in age with J.M. being the older. J.M. Cook's daugter, NANCY, married THOMAS PROVINCE in the home of WILLIAM R. COOK.
My Great Grandmother was J.M. Cook's daughter. Her name was FRANCIS ALICE COOK and was his last born. In the 1870's, practically all of the families mentioned moved to Shelby Co. Texas and lived in or around Center.
Thanks for any help you can give me and I'll be glad to share what meager information I have on the Cooks.
