Three brothers named Lewis, Reuben and Elijah Scott came to Morehouse Parish from North Carolina by 1850 and started a settlement 3 miles north of Rayville.

Reuben Scott married Louisa H. They had a daughter Marcella/Marcilla and a son Wm. G. Scott. After Reuben died between 1850-60, Louisa H. Scott married George W. Wright. Louisa's & Reuben Scott's daughter, Marcella later married Phillip Wright, younger brother of George W. Wright.

The 1880 Richland Parish census has incorrect information on George W. Wright's children from a previous marriage who are George W. Wright, Jr. and Author T. Wright who is listed as a Scott instead of a Wright. Wm. G. Scott listed is Louisa's son from marriage to Reuben Scott.

There is a Catherine Scott in the household of Jeremiah and Nancy Collins in the 1860 Morehouse census. Does anyone know if this Catherine Scott is related to Lewis, Reuben & Elijah Scott? She also was born in NC.
