Here is one that is a real "stumper". Oren S. Penny, (b. about 1838, d. 2/13/1918) married Catherine S. Bosley (b. 12/2/1853, d. 1/26/1939). In the 1860 census, Oren was listed as living in Winn Parish as a lawyer. In 1870, he was listed in Natchitoches Parish as a farmer. But here's the strange part: He is also listed in the Dawes Roles--a miracle at best (being both there and also being a lawyer at the age of 22).
