Hi Gail;;..I'm a Montreal Durocher..yes there is a Durocher street in Montreal named after my family..my ggggaunt was Eulalie Durocher also known a Mother Marie-Rose Durocher who founded the Sisterhood of the Holy names of Jesus and Mary..there are a few motherhouses in the u.s. she was cananized by the pope in the 70iest I have her book and newspaper clipping..b 1811 d1849 she came from a very prominent family ..there are several books about her life..sorry but they are in french..don't know if u read the language or not..if so u can check under canadian geneogly ..them go in to quebec..lots of information there. by the way the Durocher st. goes from downtown Montreal thru three other parishes we live one street up from the Durocher street..it was in Outremont..my gggranfather was the founding mayor..a friend of mine just got back from the south of France last week and one of the hotels she stayed at was on duRocher street.. i and some of my family members wrote it as DuRocher..i believe it's decended from the "Count du Roc" i'm trying to remember what part of France we came from..very hard to track...hope this info is ok...Sarah
