belonged to Eudora S. DAY, married name
MUNSON, found in a home
in Laurel,
Maryland, that once was occupied by the MUNSONs.
1. A 60 page booklet titled "An Account of our DAY Family of
Calvert County,
Maryland compiled by Elisabeth Alice
Gibbins COLE (Mrs. J. C. COLE, Jr., Lettsworth,
Louisiana)." This was
dedicated to the
Memory of Four Day
Brothers, Doctors of
Medicine. The following are pictured on the first page: Richard
Hance DAY, William Benjamin DAY, Benjamin John DAY and
John Thomas DAY.
2. A photo album mainly dedicated to a trip to Pike's
Peak but also contains photos of several family gatherings and
special events.
3. A certificate from the state of
Louisiana nominating Mrs.
Eudora S. DAY for
Sheriff in and for the parish of East Baton
Rouge, dated 31 March 1924. Attached is her oath notarization.
4. A certificate from the state of
Louisiana declaring that
Mrs. E. S. DAY was duly elected as the
Sheriff in and for the
parish of East Baton Rouge, dated 28 May 1924.
5. A certificate from the United
Daughters of the Confederacy
certifying that Dora S. DAY was the daughter of H. S. SLAUGHTER
who served in Company E, 1st
La Cavalry. This is dated 21 April
1922.
I would like to pass these documents on only to a true relative
of Mrs. DAY who is looking for additional family information.
