I have been unable to find the parents of my GG-Grandfather, Henry J. Johnston, and could sure use some help; I have been searching for almost 3 yrs. He is buried in Whitehall Cemetery; I don't know when he died, he was born 1834 TN and parents born N.C. He married Martha Gryder in LA 1859. He served with the Caliborne Rangers in War Between the States and has a Confederate marker. Nobody in the family knows about him; I feel as though I know him, now, and so want to find out more about him. Can any of you help me? I am planning a trip out there soon but could really use some guidance. My Great Grandparents lived in Leton and they are buried at Whitehall, also.
Thanks so much!
