Richard Green WOOTEN b. 3/18/1800 unk. Looking for parents/birthplace of Richard (1850 Catahoula Census indicates GA). He married Beatrice Grange/Granger in Baton Rouge LA, recd a LA Land Grant in 1841, moved to Catahoula Parish where he died in 1859. Spelling of name WOOTON began around this time. His eldest son RG Wooton married Elizabeth Ann Maria TALIAFERRO (dau. of Judge James Govan Taliaferro). When RG died his younger brother Lewellyn (Coot) WOOTON married Elizabeth.
