In June 1903, Hackberry, the family of Elick (Alec) O'Brien and Rebecca Elender were poisoned in an act of revenge. They had two small children. Rebecca and one of the children died from the poison. I'm looking for info on Elick, did he remarry, when did he die, where is he buried? Who are his parents? His daughter that survived is shown living with her grandmother. Where did he go?

My GGG grandfather St Germain Alcendor Elender is buried behind someones house in what I understand is a small cemetery. Everytime I see a list of the people buried there it says to ask before going to see if its ok. But they never give directions to the house or a phone number. Anyone know how to get to Elender cemetery in Hackberry or who to contact?

Looking for information regarding Ida Mitchell and her husband, James Monroe Randolph. Both were born in 1871 and did several months apart (sometime between 1900-1910) They had four children: Ola, Clara Mavis, Nova Ennis, and Robert Lee.

They were known to live in the following areas in Louisiana: Sabine Parish, St Landry Parish, Bunkie in Avoyelles Parish, and Alexandria in Rapides Parish. It is possible that they also lived in Cameron Parish.

This is what I have gathered from other researchers, and it may or may not be 100% correct. But here it is:

I have also seen Alida Louise Miller called Mary Alida Miller. She was born August 14, 1850 in Kaplan, Vermilion Parish, died May 23, 1951 in Grand Chenier, Vermillion Parish, Louisiana. She is buried in the Pecan Island Public Cemetery. I have the older version of the transcribed Cemetery and she is on it.

Her father was Joseph Ozachare/Ozencourt Miller (b. December 15, 1830 in Opelousas, Louisiana d. April 08, 1864 in Mansfield, Louisiana of war wounds from fighting in the Civil War). Her mother was Marie Delphino/Delphine Fruge
(b. September 20, 1835 in Opelousas, Louisiana d. August 23, 1853 in Opelousas Louisiana. However, it has been said that Alida's mother died when she was 9 days old, so this date doesn't check out, but it's what's available.). I do not believe that she had any siblings because her mother and father didn't really live long enough to have any and I haven't found any evidence that they had any more children.

If you want it, I have found an article about Alida Miller Broussard's 100th birthday, it's just a little large to post. It has information about her family and upbringing and how she met her husband. She is my g-g-g-grandmother.

I hope this helps.

I am interested in Henry Wolfe husband of Sarah. I believe that Henry is a brother of my Great Grandfather, Fred. I have found them in Galveston Co, Texas in 1860. Then they are in Cameron Par in 1870. My Fred then moved back to Galveston where he met and married my Great Grandmother Olive Stevens.
I have also found Fred's oldest son, Henry, living in Cameron Par in 1900 with wife Emma.
Any info you may have on this family, please contact me.
Thank you
Mary Chandley

There are in fact Indians that lived in Cameron. There is a small family cemetery in Little Chenier, right at the Mermentau river. There is a man who lives there named Amos Miller who is my distant cousin. The Miller family is buried in that cemetery along with two Indians, but we haven't figured out who they were or what tribe they came from.

Megan

David POOL & Caroline HOLDEN TX-LA

I am looking for info on the following families:
David POOL married Caroline HOLDEN 1830 in St. Tammany Parish. They had the following children:
William, Cenith, Mary Ann, David, Laura, Catherine,& Virginia.
Caroline is listed in the 1870 Cameron Parish census (Pecan Island) without David. Apparently he died before 1870.

Their son David married (1) Elizabeth LABOVE in Orange County Texas in 1873 (2) Felecien CONSTANCE in 1878. Felecien's parents were Gideon & Christina HANKS Constance. David is buried in the Grand Lake Community Cemetery.

Their son Joseph married Ortance LOGUE, the daughter of Henry Logue and Odelia BENOIT. Joseph and Ortance are both buried in the Grand Lake Community Cemetery.

This is about all of the info I have on this family. Any info is greatly appreciated.
