Louisiana death certificates are not available on-line. But if you are looking for death certificates for Calcasieu family members, don't forget to look in Texas, incase they died across the state line. You can find index to deaths as well as the image of some death certificate from Texas at Family Search (LDS) website:

On the opening page place cursor over “Search Records”. A drop-down window gives you options. Click on “Record Search pilot”. A new page opens where you can plug-in your surname you want to search.
I also put in Texas, United States. The hits come up next, and when you click on the names a new screen appears and some have a very tiny image on the right. Click on the image and enlarge. You are looking at the actual death certificate with all the info. I printed copies of those of my family that died in Texas. I don’t know which dates actually have the images. Some of those I search for on my family only had the minimal info and no image, but some did have the images. I made copies of some that I had paid good money for when I ordered them from Texas years ago. Now they are free. :o)
