Hi,
I'm a little confused. I found your family tree on Ancestry and it looks like you're only missing Edmond/Eddie and Gillie's death info. There is a volunteer who will go to the Louisiana State Archives and I assume they have death info. You'll find his/her contact info at
www.gengathering.com. You must create a user ID and password to enter this web site. However access to the volunteer contact info is free. You'll find this volunteer listed under Louisiana, All Parishes. I'd also ask him/her for copies of their obituaries.
If that doesn't work out, you can contact the Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association,
www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~laaltga/purpose.htm. I can't tell from their web site if they do research or not but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Because anyone of color was under identified in the Census records, I'd also pursue Ed's will/probate info. You can contact the Caddo Parish Court Clerk and ask about how to get those records after you find his death date.
There is a good web site about African American records in Caddo Parish at
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ajac/lacad....
I found Ed and Gillie/Tillie on the 1900 Caddo Census but you already have that info. I also found the following:
Edd Miles
Age: 44
Father: Eddie Miles, b. LA
Mother: Gillies Hales b. LA
Occ: Common laborer
Widower
Informant: Hembrick Myles, Greenwood, LA
Died: 7 Sept 1944, Jefferson, Marion, Texas
COD: Coronary thrombosis
Buried: Cypress Chapel Cemetery, Jefferson, TX, Sept 10, 1944
Source: Texas Deaths 1890-1976
If you can't find him in Census records, I'd order copies of his will/probate records too. Successful Searching!
