I found this census but I can't find any more on the people listed. I'm interested in the 1900 Census for Caddo Co, Louisiana in "Police Jury Ward 02", Page 3. I don't know what "Police Jury Ward 02" means. It doesn't seem to mean anything about police or juries or prisons. Anyway, at the bottom it lists dwelling #33 in this way:
ME Richerson; Widow; Married 29 yrs; Age 49; B: Feb 1850 TX; Parents b: TN; Runs a boarding house (but no boarders are listed); 7 kids, 3 living; Renting a home. (I think the last name may actually be Richardson).
Her son is only listed as "R."; age 12; b Dec 1887 TX; father b: England; day laborer. Then it says he immigrated in 1869 and has been in the US 26 yrs! Obviously a mistake. Could they mean his father, who is dead? Some other records show as possibly him, but I'm not convinced.
Like I said, my searching has failed to find more on the mother, dead father, or son. If anyone has any luck, I would love to know.
It's possible R. Richerson, age 12, is my g-grandfather. In 1910 he is in Arkansas as WR Richardson, married to Nettie. On my g-grandfather's death certificate it says his father was George, born in England, and his mother's maiden name was Biggs. I have not been able to discover any other info about my g-grandfather's parents or siblings. This 1900 census is my best lead in 1900.
Thank you for your help
