Also, in Marksville is the St. JOseph church. they have a book out on the cemetery. they can direct you to the local newspaper office. there, is Randy Decuir and Carlos Mayeaux. they have done lots of research on Avoyelles anb have some books available. Near there is the tourist information office with some books as well. If you are close enough, a trip to Marksville and Mansura can really be fun.
