Looking for Floyd Lee West's parents,1920-1993 Born in Allen Parish (Oakdale). Father was Mayo West1891-1967 and Mother Lena Johnson 1891-1967(?) Family tales of Lena Johnson's mother being Annie Johnson(?) 1894-1941 buried at Oakdale Cemetary. Cannot find her listed there on line. Any info appreciated.
Also a William West 1869-1900 m. Martha (?)Thompson.

Could your William West be related to Nathaniel West who married Sarah Willis? She was the daughter of Rev. Joseph Willis. Nathaniel West owned land in Allen/Rapides Parish in 1845 and 1849. Let me know

I have found a William West in West Cemetery in Allen Parish. But it was so long ago that I'm not sure where the cemetery was located.

There is a West Cemetery off of LA Hwy. 10 inside Vernon Parish. The Vernon Parish Library has a set of books entitled "L'est We Forget" that includes driving directions, historical info and inscriptions from all Vernon Parish cemeteries, including West Cemetery.
