My elders have always said that the Stutes name orginated from Germany. And that two brothers came to Louisiana. My research began with the families descending from the husband Michel Peter/Pierre Stutes and wife Isabella/Elizabeth Pirella. I am a descendant of Pierre Stutes and Amelia Hoffpauir. I have many missing from previous descendants and following generations with the last name of Stutes. I am aware that there are other siblings to Pierre Stutes. I have a brother, Michel Stutes.
