My gr-grandmother's 2nd husband was Desire Dubisson (I have a picture of him), They were married around 1855-60 ?. Her name was Clementine (maiden name unknown) Godfrey (Francis). They lived in Chicago in 1877. This is known because he is listed in the Chicago (Illinois)City Directory , occupation "wiper".

My great grandfather was mayor of Artemisa ca. 1905, a town in a newly independent Cuba. A large group of exiled Cubans settled in the United States (likely in the South) during the lates 1800s while the long struggle for independence from Spanish rule continued.
