No "John Turner" listed in the Louisiana Soldiers
in the War of 1812
by LGHS & Marion Pierce

Was he born in Louisiana?

Any other information you have on him
would be helpful in searching.

My John Turner was born about 1795 in SC., County unknown.

He supposly fought in the war of 1812 and the Battle of New Orleans.(?)

Cathoic Records verefi the birth of his daughter Lucinda
(Dulucindee or something like that in 1822 in Baton Rouge
Louisiana. From there they went to TN., County unknown.
He supposly found under the TN., Melisha(?){I'm not a good speller}.

He married Nancy Rolls/Rools/ Annie Reols(on Lucinda's baptism record} They supposly married in Baton Rouge, LA.,
but there is no Church records to verefi that. Maybe a civil wedding?

p.s. On the Church records John Turner is spelled Jean Turner. [Jean is the French name for John]
