I am looking for information on the first DesOrmeaux's in Louisiana. Right now I beleive the first DesOrmeaux's in my husband's family line are Louis DesOrmeaux, b1741/1755 and Ana Trahan. I was wondering if any one had information on Louis or Ana that they would be willing to share.

Kathleen,
Do you have a Dr. DesOrmeaux in your husband's family the lived in Lafayette, La and owned DesOrmeaux's clinic there? He treated my mother and my siblings while we lived there and I will never forget him. He was such a wonderful man.

Hello! I asked my husband if he was any relation to a Dr. DesOrmeaux and he advised that he did not believe so. Though I am finding with the DesOrmeaux tree, in that area of LA, you only have to go back a few generations to tie them all together. As I research the family, I will let you know if we have a cousin who is a Dr in Lafayette.

Have a good one!

this Doctor would be deceased by now. I remember going to his house and it was a big antebellum house with lots of Azaleas around it. He had several pet monkeys that he kept all the time and my siblings and I just loved going over thee to play with the monkeys.
