Mr. and Mrs. Mack Crook were entertained Sunday, May 29, by their children in their home at 801 Church street in observance of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Their five children and their families were present to help them celebrate.
Mr. and Mrs. Crook were married May 9, 1910 in Shawneetown, Ill., and have lived in and around Providence their entire lives. Mrs. Crook, the former Miss Donie Hall of Hopkins county, is now 70 years of age and Mr. Crook, a retired miner, is 83.
Their children are Miss Louella Crook of Evansville, Marlin Crook of Mishawaka, Ind., Bradley Crook of Morganfield, William D. Crook and Mrs. Bernice Wilson of Providence.
They have four grandsons, Bobby Carrol and Cecil, sons of Marlin Crook, Stephen, son of Bradley Crook, and Jamie, son of William D. Crook; and one granddaughter, Mrs. John Padgett, daughter of Mrs. Bernice Wilson. They also have two great-grandchildren, Melba Lynn Padgett and Robert Victor Crook.
The dinner was prepared by daughters, daughters-in-law, and granddaughter and was served buffet style.
Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Latham and daughter of Metropolis, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Lois Keller of Madisonville and Mrs. Charles Buchanan of Henderson.
The couple received many nice gifts and cards. **

- Arthur Mack Crook, 1877-1963, was the son of John Crook, 1841-1910 and Mary Elizabeth Harris, 1847-1915 who were married 15 Dec 1864 in Henderson Co KY. He was the grandson of Charles Crook, 1799-1869 and Deborah Marks, 1805-1894, who were married 23 Dec 1823 in Loudoun Co VA and came to Henderson County about 1830 to settle Brandywine Farm. In 1992 Brandywine Farm was one of thirty-three Bicentennial Farms designated in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a Bicentennial Farm being one that has been owned by the same family for 200 years.
