I am looking for an very elusive ancestor by the name of Andrew Jackson (AJ) Smith born abt 1824 in KY according to census records. I have little info to go on except the census records which show his state of birth to be KY and his father is reported to be born in VA and mother in NC. I do not have the names of his parents nor any dates other than the one above. AJ married Hepsebeth Jane Crane abt 1870 and had two known children: Thomas Andrew SMith born 1870, Boone County, AR and Ruthey M. Smith born abt 1873, probably Boone co, AR also. This may have been a second marriage for AJ but havent been able to prove it postively yet . The other marriage may have been to a Celia Ann (maiden name unknown) in Carroll CO, AR around 1850. I have been stuck on AJ for several years now and desperately need to find additional info on him--seems like he just appeared and then disappeared. the last known references for him is in feb 1902, on a land sell transaction after that he disappears- probably passed away- would have been in his 80's at that point. Any help would be most greatly appreciated as any relatives that would have known him have passed away and those that may have heard of him don't remember, so i'm stuck at this point.
