I am looking for information on my great, great grandmother Laura P. Ray. She was born 12 Sep 1854 in Muhlenburg or McLean county KY and died there 9 Jan 1929. I learned recently that Laura may have been full or half Chickasaw, but I have been unable to confirm this. I am hoping you can help provide me with additional information, or point me in the right direction.

Information from my great aunt, Laura's grand daughter, indicates Laura may have been orphaned at an early age and adopted by the Ray or Wray family. In any event, Laura appears as a 4 year old in an 1860 census under head of household Jef (possibly Jefferson) Ray (dob abt 1806). However, by the 1870 census, Laura appears as a 14 year old under head of household Andrew Coffman. Around 1876, Laura married my great, great grandfather Daniel P. Coffman who is Andrew Coffman's nephew.
