Pvt. James W. Laughary was killed in action in Germany on Feb. 7, according to a telegram received Monday night by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Laughary of Sebree.
Pvt. Laughary was inducted by the Webster county board last August for a Detroit, Mich., board and spent the Christmas holidays at his home, leaving Sebree Dec. 31 for Ft. Meade, Md. He arrived overseas Jan. 27, and had been in Germany only a short time.
Survivors include the wife, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noble Crowley, near Slaughters; two children, Glenda, 7, and Dorothy, 5; and his parents, whose home is near Hanson.
