I'm seeking a direct male descendant of Kinsy Sutton/Sitton (ca. 1847 - aft. 1920; md. Caroline Meece, 1846-1918) of Wayne County, Kentucky for y-chromosome dna testing. I am attempting to determine whether Kinsy's father, George Sitton (ca. 1812 - aft. 1870) of Henderson County, NC and Union County, GA, was the biological father of my great-grandfather Thomas Dawson Jackson (ca. 1854/59 - 1931; md. Ellen E. Jones) of Henderson County, NC or not. I would like to compare the y-dna of a descendant of Kinsy Sutton with that of my second cousin to see if there is a match. I would welcome contact from any direct male descendant of this family, or from anyone who could assist me in locating an eligible candidate for genetic testing. I am willing to sponsor the cost of testing at FTDNA. Kinsy Sutton's sons were Thomas T. Sutton (1867-1944; md. Rosa Lee Stinson); John Gordon Sutton (1869-1936; md. Mary Alice Garner); Mont Harmon Sutton (1879-1952; md. Hannah Canada); and Henry Gamblin Sutton (1892 - 1971; md. Elzora Pierce). Members of this family are buried in the Choat Cemetery near Jamestown, Russell County, KY. Thank you for any assistance.
