This question has been out before but we haven't found the answer.
My ggggrandfather, Joshua B. Cox, was bond for the marriage of Armilda Cox 28 November 1834 Wayne County KY to Aaron Loveall; she married 2nd next Samuel B. Kelly. Armilda was not his daughter or his niece. Armilda' death certificate signed by her son Milton Kelley lists Armilda's father as Peter Cox, mother unknown. 1880 Wayne census T9 R445 P450 Armilda has listed her "mother" Rebecky Penelton age 81 born KY, father and mother both born KY.
Does anyone have information on Peter and Rebeckah? Could Peter have died and Rebecky be Becca Cox who married William Johnson 27 Jan 1819? Mrs. Rebeckah Johnson is listed in 1820 and 1830 Wayne Census without a husband, but with a female about the age of Armilda. Rebecca Johnson is last listed in Wayne Tax in 1831 and Rebecca Johnson signed a deed in 1831 with Rebecca Cox.
Does anyone have a marriage record for Rebecca Cox marrying a Penelton, or Rebecca Johnson marrying a Penelton?
