Hello ~ I am fairly new at research and came across your post. My 3x great-grandfather was James Adair. He married a Theresa Arnold on December 10, 1865 in Brazos County, Texas. They had a daughter, Malinda Ellen Adair. I have been told they might be from Arkansas.
