I would like to know if any one has any information on this couple. This would be my great grandpam and grandma. They had about 8 sons, my grand father born 1/6/09, I. Ray Mills.
George Mills was born about 1870 and Martha about 1871.

I believe your George Thomas is the son of Louis (or Lewis) P. Mills, born 1839 in Marion Co. He married Elizabeth Ann Beavens.

Louis was the son of James Mills, b1815 reportedly in St. Mary's Co, MD. He married Ann Angeline Alvey.

James is thought to be the son of Lewis Mills, my grgrgrandfather through his son Robert Mills. Lewis was born in St. Mary's Co in 1788, married to Mary Simmons Abel, and they had quite a few children, some born in St. Mary's Co and some in Union Co. I have no real proof that James is his son, but if so, he was probably his first son, born 8 Feb 1815. There are many genealogies out there that have James as the son of Lewis, and it may well be true, but I tend to suspect allegations until I've some proof. The first child I have for them is Matilda born in 1818. Lewis and Mary were married in 1812, so James could well be their son.

Lewis is the son of Joseph Mills and Eleanor Bowes (Bowles). Joseph b. 1762 came from St. Mary's Co abt 1822 with his his family.

Joseph is the son of Justinian Mills and Mary Dant. I

This is just a brief outline and the line goes back even further. I can give more detail if you like.

BTW in my list of children of George Thomas, I don't have a Roy, but that certainly doesn't mean there wasn't a son named Roy.

Sorry, disregard that last sentence referring to Roy Mills. I actually do have a son named Roy, born 1902. But your relative was named Ray, and I do have a Raymond. In the 1920 census he was listed as 14.

and Martha Lyons. George and Martha were also my great grand parents. Their son Everett W. Mills, Sr was my grandfather. My dad lived with George T and Martha when he was young for several years.

I visited Uniontown, KY some time ago to find out more information about the Mills family. I visited the old Mills farm and met some realative and visited their grave site. I too would like to find more information about the Mills family and the roots.

I recently connected with a 3rd cousin doing the same research and would be interested in connecting to share any information that would help with the research.
