W.Kirkman Orders to divide Slavey
Todd County Court December 1850 in motran of Peter Kirkman,George
Kirkman,Susanna Kirkman,Almond Browning and Peter Kirkman guardrain for
James Kirkman,Mary Jane Kirkman and Hester Kirkman infants of John
M.Kirkman decease .It is order that R.F. Allison,R.J.Patton, Mevin
Hearn,L.F.Hollingsworth and R.E.Glenn,an any three of them is after
being first duly sworn according to law be and they are hereby
appointed____to divide the slaves belonging to the estate of William
Kirkman deceaded,among the heirs and legal representative of said
William Kirkman deceaded and ____.Willis L. Reeves,Clerk
Persuant to an order of the Todd County Court at the december term of
part__ for the year 1850.Appointing the undersigned___ to divide the
slaves belonging to the Estate of William Kirkman,dec. Between the heir
at law of said descesed.After first being duly sworn according to law
proceeded as follow by 1st.to value the slaves which has been giving to
those of his heirs who had left him and to whom he had given slaves
which was five(?) in number and value by up at $1725 and given to the
following: Names Ruth age 14 years and valued at $400 ,May given to
Sarah Borner late Sarah Kirkman,To John Kirkman ,Sally age 10 years
value to $350,To Peter Kirkman,Ceresy age 9 years Valued to $300,To Mary
Browning,late Mary Kirkman ,Ann age 8 years valued to $300,To George
Kirkman,Edith age 10 years value to $375.The above valuations all made
to agree with thier value at the different time they were given to said
heirs.
Susan Kirkman having receive no slaves in this way advancement no
proceeded to allot to her Nancy with child valued at $575. The number of
slaves them remaining may five an valued at $ 2125.The number of heirs
being six we___conseled to in one the ___of one heir in money.
We then processeded to have them drawn for by the heir present and other
representing those who were not present,which resulted as follows:
Peter Kirkman got for John Kirkman heirs drew Lott valued at
$550.R.E.Glenn representing W.W.Borner and wife drew Mary valued at
$350.Peter Kirkman drew for himself Hannah Valued at $525.George Kirkman
drew money to bear interest from this date.
Susan drew Joseph valued at $750. A.Browning wife drew lucy value at
$450.The whole slave including those which had been given a advancement
and those on the prec____at the time decedents death in forty nine
hundred and 45 dollars the ___ of heira six the amount to which each
heirs is intitled is $824___not including the share of money drawn by
George Kirkman,John Kirkman heir to receive $900.$75.84 over the amount
to which they are intitled.
W.W.Borner and wife do not received their portion by $74.Peter Kirkman
84 cents over his part. A.Browning and wife not receiving their part by
$74. George Kirkman is yet intitled to $449.Susan Kirkman received
$500.86 cents over her part in the amount____to make all those who have
not received full portion $597.48.The amount received over the amount to
which they are intitled $577.54.
All of whic in by us respectfully reported to the Todd County Court
December 24,1850.

At the Jan.term 1851 of the Todd County Court this report of the
division of the slaves of William Kirkman,deceaded may produced to
court,examined,approved and order to be recorded. Whereupon I have
trurly divided the same together with this certificate in my office .
